Uncompromising Innovation - In Detail.

DeLorean Industries build specifications and assembly techniques represent our cutting edge vision of every details matters. We work clearly to express why our beliefs are unrivaled through how we produce what is widely considered the best DeLorean's ever restored. Below constitutes a general over view of our passion explained along with innovations implemented throughout the process. In depth details and visual representations are showcased in upcoming gallery portfolios of builds.

BODY SPECIFICATIONS

After submitting for a commission, our clients provide a fully assembled, road legal, titled, and registered 1981-1983 DeLorean DMC-12. This is used as the core of the build process. Upon completion, the car maintains its's original vehicle identification number (VIN), odometer reading and continues to be operated, licensed and registered as before.

The supplied core for the build process is comprehensively disassembled and sorted into two categories. Components to be restored/retained and components to be discarded/destroyed. All components slated for being discard/destroyed are done so without exception.

The factory GRP (glass reinforced plastic) monocoque receives an in-depth rework procedure utilizing state of the art restoration methods. The entire structure is sealed in a two part catalyst finish that provides a superior resistance to every day use. All applicable mild steel components are replaced with direct fitment engineered stainless units. This includes a full stainless roof box assembly, stainless door hinges, stainless striker boxes, and stainless front extension mounting brackets. All factory mounting fastener locations are seamlessly removed with modern riv-nuts installed.

The outer stainless factory skin is reworked to perfection and replaced as required. Providing a uniformed brushed finish that flows the length of the body lines. Doors are modified to reinforce factory weak points between the inner structural shell and outer skin and are aligned to their GRP counter part mating locations for flawless operation.

Exterior accents hold true to the nostalgic appearance as the car was meant to be. Subtle upgrades include a custom fit all fiberglass front fascia encasing bespoke lighting upgrades mounted to all stainless components. Lower rocker panels, valances and spoilers are constructed from high temperature resistance formulated urethane with a semi gloss black finish.

 CHASSIS SPECIFICATIONS

The GRP monocoque is mounted to a stainless steel chassis offering excellent performance along with unparalleled corrosion protection. Each chassis is hand built and fitted exclusively to a singular GRP monocoque. Offering optimal fitment not found in high volume production manufacturing. While factory chassis did not offer number matching identification, the bespoke chassis is serialized to the monocoque detailing the build specifications and a higher level of overspecialization.

ELECTRICAL

The 35 plus year-old Lucas electrical system is completely updated with modern technology. Featuring a state of the are engine management system, power distribution modules and premium Bosch components deleting the factory fuse system. All harnesses are manufactured by hand with mil-spec wiring and connectors. Remote diagnostics are made possible via a secure login port to view data logs and provide continual product support to commissions globally.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SPECIFICATIONS

Engines are completely disassembled and blueprinted to exacting standards. Followed by being hand built with proprietary parts produced by state of the art component manufactures in the United States. More details on our unique range of components is available on our spec upgrades product listing. The transmission is a five speed synchronized UN1 unit heavily reworked. Only one transmission option is available.Engine management is provided by a proprietary electronic fuel injection system designed to optimize the factory PRV platform to max potential.

SUSPENSION/STEERING

The fully uprated suspension features a modern coil over design with fully adjustable springs and damper units seamlessly integrated into the stainless chassis. Stainless radius arms connect via a proprietary trailing arm mounting configuration to custom 6061 rear hub assemblies. The front features upper 6061 wishbone control arms with matching lower units. The suspension characteristics are controlled via fully adjustable members at all points. Allowing for front and rear caster, chamber and toe adjustments.

The steering features a manual rack assembly integrated into noise and vibration reduction housings internally on the stainless chassis with an optional in line electric power assist unit that allows for the retention of the factory style steering shaft crumple tube.

FINISH OPTION

We have extensively researched and developed one finish that we feel properly accents the innovation of this machine. DI-304L is the only option offered for the exterior panels. This custom grain texturing allows for slight imperfection and finger prints to be quickly removed while maintaining a lasting durable finish.
