DeLorean Industries New Production Engine Main Harness Late Configuration. Designed, engineered, manufactured, and tested in-house at our facility in Akron, Ohio. Updates any car to late 83 tucked harness configuration.
Platform Background and Improvements:
The factory used two primary harness designs during production. Later in production, a major revision to the main engine wiring harness occurred. This design is regarded as superior due to fitment and routing and the removal of the primary alternator harness output circuit from a convoluted path through the entire harness.
This formed the foundation for our new harness system as there was room for improvement and innovation on every level. The harness is manufactured to OEM modern-day specifications and removes several failure-prone connection points. As with many things produced, we opted to manufacture in-house to control quality above and beyond any standard we could hold with an outside manufacturer. Extensive details on the manufacturing and premium components implemented are outlined in detail below.
Includes power distribution wires, comprehensively illustrated instructions, wiring diagrams, and all necessary components to complete installation.
Key Features:
_ Designed, engineered, manufactured, and tested in-house resulting in total product control.
_ Manufactured from TXL Cross-Link wire. Constructed from bare copper stranded wire that exceeds SAE J1128, Ford M1L-123A, and many additional industry requirements. The exterior features chemically cross-linked polyethylene insulation ( XLPE) resulting in superior heat and flame resistance, and operational cycle characteristics. Extreme resistance is exhibited against oil gasoline, acids, solvents, and moisture.
_ Service ready quick disconnect Delphi Weatherpack connectors implemented throughout. This allows for harness section service where complete replacement was previously required, and total moisture control of component integration connection points.
_ Bosch Type Sealed Connector Housing on Idle Speed Motor, Idle Speed Thermistor, Warm Up Regulator (CPR), Cold Start Valve, and Frequency valve.
_ Keyed Bosch D Jetronic Connector with seal boot for polarity sensitive Thermotime switch.
_ Labeled harness flying lead sections taking any guesswork out of component termination points and directly correlated to installation routing strategy instructions for ease of use.
_ High moisture/abrasion-resistant wrap on main harness legs.
_ Techflex Clean Cut protective sleeves on all powertrain tier 1 condition routing areas.
_ High-temperature silicone-wrapped fiberglass protective sleeves on all powertrain tier 2 condition routing areas.
_ New Production Church Style “Factory Connect” 3mm Firewall connectors.
_ Frequency Valve Diagnostic/Tuning Plug. Allows for direct dwell reading without back probing and damaging firewall connectors.
_ Standalone Frequency valve harness allows for servicing without removing the integrated main harness.
_ Updated power distribution cables including alternator to starter positive terminal, positive terminal to firewall jump start lead w/ updated junction point, and power distribution to bulkhead connector.
_ Dedicated individual integration instructions and wiring schematics for updating connections to micro switches, sensors, and power distribution. Digital downloadable options are available along with being preformatted to 8.5 X 11 for quick reference printing.

ENGINE MAIN HARNESS UPDATED (LATE PRODUCTION SPEC)
PART# 370110185
Congratulations on purchasing a DeLorean Industries Engine Main Harness. This updated harness is designed to replace the obsolete early-style production harness, update connector reliability whenever possible, and solve the no longer available failure-prone “late 83” production harnesses.
OVERVIEW
All connection points, ranging from the single-pin connectors to the Lucas-style church tree connector, have been updated or manufactured for superior reliability above and beyond what the factory components offered. Below listed is a breakdown of all the termination points for process reference.
Church Tree Lucas Connection Points
The updated harness Utilizes the same factory plug-in points on the firewall. Using the supplied diagram, this is the upper right corner blue nine connector terminals 19-27, lower left seven-pin connector terminals 28-34, and lower right nine-pin connector terminals 44-52. To tell the difference between the two nine-pin connectors, reference the top left pin on the wire side. The connector for the blue bulkhead point has an orange wire. The connector for the white bulkhead point has a green wire. Both top pins are empty.
Frequency Valve (Passenger valve cover) – Retains a Bosch 2-pin EV1 connector updated to modern weather pack sealing technology.
Warm Up Regulator CPR (Driver side valve cover) – Retains a Bosch 2-pin EV1 connector updated to modern weather pack sealing technology.
Cold Start Valve (Top of the brass tube next to intake driver side) – Retains a Bosch 2-pin EV1 connector updated to modern weather pack sealing technology.
Idle Speed Motor (Directly in front of cold start valve) – Retains a Bosch 3-pin EV1 connector updated to modern weather pack sealing technology.
Idle Speed Thermistor (Beneath intake manifold in Y pipe) – Retains a Bosch 2-pin EV1 connector updated to modern weather pack sealing technology.
Thermal-Time Switch (Side of the water pump) -Retains factory-style Bosch D Jetronic direction-sensitive connector.
Ignition Vacuum Solenoid (Rear of air metering housing) -Retains factory-style Bosch D Jetronic direction-sensitive connector.
Lambda Sensor Switch (Spade terminal switch on Y pipe) – Utilizes an updated water-tight spade connector.
Oxygen Sensor Ground (Passenger side intake manifold front) – Updated to a weather pack water-tight quick disconnect connection instead of a factory unsealed spade connector. This Still utilizes a ring terminal at the manifold bolt-on point.
A/C Compressor Positive Lead (Connects to the compressor) – Updated to a weather pack water-tight quick disconnect connection.
Oil Pressure Warning Light (Driver side block behind the converter)- Factory style flag spade connector.
Oil Pressure sensor (passenger side block below alternator) – Factory style flag spade connector.
Idle Speed Microswitch (Adjacent to throttle body) - Factory-style flag spade connectors.
Full Throttle Microswitch (Under W pipe on throttle spool) – Updated to a 4-pin weather pack water-tight quick disconnect connection. The connector orientation mimics the stock harness. Terminate with the supplied connector to copy this.
Starter S Terminal (At starter motor) – Updated to single ring terminal for updated late model high torque starter units.
Coolant Temperature Sensor (Passenger front of cylinder head) – Factory Style ring terminal.
Alternator (Passenger side top accessory position) – Updated to a water pack water-tight quick disconnect in line with the alternator plug.
OPTIONAL POWER DISTRIBUTION KIT ITEMS (REQUIRED FOR COMPLETE UPDATED)
The alternator cross-over harness present on early to mid-production cars (three large gauge wires in the entire length of the harness) is deleted in favor of running the late-style jumper from the coil compartment to the jump-start post. This is installed at the primary power stud junction in the bottom corner beneath the bulkhead connectors. This terminates to the jump start lead junction in front of the coolant bottle. The reference part number is 370110093.
The alternator to starter connection is updated to the late-style production utilizing this harness. The reference part number is 370000789. This is routed from the starter terminal battery cable point, down below and around between the oil filter and oil pressure sender, and terminated at the back of the alternator lead terminal. Take care to route this away from the exhaust, depending on what system is installed. The above method works for stock exhausts and specification one DeLorean Industries systems.
The shorter of the two is for the bulkhead to jump post point. The longer of the two goes from the alternator power lead to the starter top terminal.

Engine harness
I have not installed this yet but it looks amazing. I'm not quite sure how it gets routed but I'm sure I can figure it out. Quality looks outstanding. Thank you DPI for creating this! It really modernizes the engine bay.
